many thanks to those of you that responded to my funding plea last week; we regained a few percentage points on our way towards our goal, and hopefully now with a bit of inertia that number will continue to trend up, rather than spiral worryingly down as it had been doing. and many thanks to our newest patrons – we welcome tom poynton, james torrance, ernst karel, tomasz pizio, and one anonymous contributor – not all since last week, but all since we last named names.

In Motion
Produced by John Wanzel

In Motion is a new sound collage made specifically for framework:afield featuring field and foley recordings, voice, computer-based polyphonic synthesization, and digital audio manipulation. The broadcast re-mixes segments from the Blind Spot radio program with sonic material from the stopGOstop podcast, recontextualizing and filtering the audio to emphasize and articulate the cause and effect of motion.

John Wanzel’s sound work and visual art have been presented in a number of festivals, galleries, museums, websites, and broadcasts, including D Gallery, Five Myles, Slought Foundation, 1/Quarterly, Dogmatic Gallery, Bad at Sports, Outer Ear Festival, and ubuweb. In 2003 he co-founded and was the Executive Producer of the Blind Spot radio program on WLUW 88.7 Chicago. In its two-year run, Blind Spot produced over 90 episodes of live experimental radio. Since 2012, John has been the host and producer of stopGOstop, an experimental audio podcast, which features compositions for headphones, field recordings, and other audio experiments.
